Dr. Smt. Suparna Ravishankar is one of the leading accomplished Veena (a string instrument, played based on Carnatic Classical Music) artist and an equally talented Bharatanatyam (an Indian Classical Dance form) Dancer.
Suparna was initiated to Classical art by her father Sangeet Vidwan Sri. Mattur S Ramamurthy and has acquired higher training under the guidance of gurus Vidwan Sri. C Krishnamurthy and Vidwan Sri R K Suryanarayan, the great maestros in Veena. She has been the Gold Medalist both during her graduation and post-graduation, awarded by Bangalore University.
Her Research studies in "Techniques of Veena Playing" has provided her Doctorate Degree in Music awarded by Bangalore University. She has a proficiency degree in Veena from Karnataka State Education Board. She has been the recipient of Fellowship from Government of India, which is awarded to the outstanding artists in the field.
In addition to the concert performances at different Sabhas, temples and other programmes, her other varieties of experimental presentations of music concerts such as Dwandwa Veena, Veena-Sitar duet, Veena-Violin duet, Veena-Violin-Venu Trios, Indian Classical and Western Classical fusion music are being well appreciated by musicians, publics and press critics.
She has directed and rendered Veena as background music to number of Audio/ Video CDs. Her various programs are being telecasted by Doordarshan and All India Radio.
Added to Suparna's professional attainments as a talented Veena player, she is an equally well-acclaimed performing Bharatanatya artist. She was initiated to Classical Dance by guru Sri. Srinivas Yadav and acquired higher training under the guidance of guru Smt. Vasanthalakshmi, a maestro and a well-known teacher in Karnataka. She has her proficiency degree in Bharatanatyam with distinction. Suparna has to her credit a large number of dance performances and dance dramas namely a few - Navras Ramayana, Krishna-leela, Gangavatarana, Girija Kalyana and many more. Creation is the central theme for all her works in the field of classical dance or music be it a stage performance or choreography.
Being the Secretary of Ranjini Kalakendra, Suparna is striving hard to make the organization as the foremost leader in performing arts.

The Centre offers various short-term programs for all Music and Dance .
